This year we have started to cooperate with the nearby Malaika Centre (Antonia Nyass (Yellow Sisters/Řeky) and Papis Nyass (Tam Tam Batucada/Řeky), in order to create an experimental centre together. The centre would focus on development education and experience workshops, and it would present our work in an enjoyable and original way.

We base our activity on our experience and the fact that nowadays people are overloaded by a large amount of different information. It´s getting harder and harder to absorb new information, topics and the relation between them. The point of this centre is to connect the development education with the personal experience lived through many creative activities led by experienced lectors, teachers and professionals of the development education area.

Volunteers, teachers, and even journalists will be able to discover the area of development cooperation and education through original activities led by people coming from the continent of Africa, or people connected to it in professional or personal way.

Papis Nyass has acted as a percussionist in many projects and he´s already worked with various big names, such as Alan Vitouš, Jaroslav Dušek, Lenka Dusilová, Gaia Messiah, or Sahab Tulluie. Papis has been composing music for the Na Paráde theatre and he has also its own project called African Rhythms, together with the dance and rhythm therapy workshop. He´s living in Prague since 1996 and he has three sons.

The vocal-drums project Rivers & Atmospheric Choir, rehearsing in the Malaika Centre, had its last performance on the 10^th January 2016 in the Jatka theatre in Prague. The DVD was made as well. The Rivers´ performance is a consonance of two female voices – lyric voices celebrating the way back to the roots, accompanied by drums, percussion and a mixed choir. Music stories are accompanied by a live projection. If you want to become a part of it, the rehearsals are held every Thursday at 19.30.

  LuHawa Goldin and Antonina Nyass

Antonia Nyass is leading the lessons of work with voice, moves and music improvisation. She´s a percussionist and singer in the project Dámská hnízda (improvisation theatre of Simona Babčáková and Ester Kočicková). Her love of music brought her also to another improvisation theatre No A. During her whole life, she´s dedicated herself to music and theatre. She studied graphic design, has three sons and she traveled through the Southeast Asia. In 2014, Antonia and LuHawa invited two outstanding percussionists Miloš Vacík and Papis Nyass to work together on the Řeky project.

Řeky & Atmospheric Choir LuHawa Goldin and Antonia Nyass are singers of an a capella project Yellow Sisters. They founded Řeky in order to look deeper into the Slavic themes and examine the potential of human voice and drums. They are authors of all their songs. Songs such as Kopřivečko, dej mi sílu, Co mi kameny, Teče voda teče, or Hodina mezi psem a vlkem are inspired by the Czech country and Slavic symbols. LuHawa and Antonia are longtime friends and that´s revealed in their work as well. They both write lyrics, both compose music. Their voices are the guides and narrators of the Czech country stories.
